Command your smartphone with SMS Tasks

Friday, August 23, 2013

One of the best features of the Android smartphones is that, if it is rooted, you can basically do whatever you want with it. One of the many examples is SMS Tasks, developed by a member of the XDA Developers Forum, which will enable you certain incoming SMS messages to perform certain tasks on your Android smartphone. The app offers features like: reset, turning off/on of different modules and performing some other various tasks.

When you start the application, you have to give root access, or you won't be able to use all the features of SMS tasks. In addition, it is recommended that you put password, which will protect your phone from SMS commands from other people than you. After that you can send SMS from any other device to perform the commands that this app supports. Here are the features that SMS tasks has:

- Turning off and reset (root)
- Performing commands in the terminal (root)
- Deleting applications (root)
- Unlock phone (root)
- Deleting SD Card
- Turning WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC on/off
- Turning Alarm on/off
- Reading of all messages
- Order your phone to read all the messages you sent to him
- monitoring via GPS

The app is still in the development phase and it isn't available on Google Play, but if you can't wait and wanna try it out, you can download it from here. You can read and learn more detailed info about the app on the XDA Forum thread started by the developer.
