Choosing what to eat can become surprisingly time-consuming. Finding suitable recipes, organizing meals for the week, checking nutritional information, and preparing a grocery list often involves several different apps—or a considerable amount of manual planning.
SwipeBite approaches this familiar problem differently. Instead of beginning with a long questionnaire, the AI meal planning app learns about users through the meals they actually choose.
TEACH THE APP YOUR TASTE WITH A SWIPE
SwipeBite presents meals as visual cards that can be swiped right or left. Swiping right signals that a meal looks appealing, while swiping left tells the app that it is probably not a good match.
There are two ways to browse. Plan Mode provides a personalized stack connected to the user’s weekly plan, while Discover Mode offers ongoing exploration of the wider meal library. A single-step undo option also makes it easy to correct an accidental swipe.
Over time, these decisions contribute to a detailed Taste Profile containing likes, dislikes, favorite meals and foods to avoid. The Taste Explorer adds a more visual interpretation through cuisine counts, flavor information, swipe activity and other taste-related patterns.
This is SwipeBite’s most distinctive idea: recommendations are shaped by real meal choices instead of relying entirely on what someone says they like during setup.
BUILD A PERSONALIZED WEEKLY MEAL PLAN
Once SwipeBite understands a user’s preferences, it can create a weekly meal plan around them. Planning can be configured for four to seven days and can include breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
The app also considers practical preferences such as cooking time, budget, dietary restrictions, allergies, nutritional goals and selected meal days. Individual meals can be swapped, added or removed without rebuilding the entire schedule.
Every meal includes a dedicated information page with ingredients, nutritional details and cooking instructions. Consistent meal photography also makes it easier to understand what each recipe is before adding it to the plan.
TURN THE PLAN INTO A GROCERY LIST
A finalized meal plan can automatically become a categorized grocery list. Ingredients are grouped into collapsible sections, helping users move through the store without searching through one long list.
SwipeBite also supports pantry items, household staples, manually added products and swipe-to-remove controls. Lists can be shared, which is useful when more than one person is responsible for shopping.
Automatic meal planning and grocery list generation are Premium features, while users can still browse meals, create plans manually and use the tracking tools without them.
TRACK MORE THAN MEALS
SwipeBite includes a broader daily tracking area for recording meals, water, weight, supplements and alcohol. Users can review a 14-day history, complete entries for previous days, set reminders and follow their logging consistency through streaks and a contribution-style activity map.
The in-app AI assistant, Byte, can use the individual’s taste profile, swipe history, meal plans, tracked meals and grocery activity to provide more relevant answers. This gives the assistant useful personal context instead of limiting it to generic food suggestions.
