Audials Radio Review

Wednesday, January 24, 2018

Audials Radio provides direct access to 90,000 radio stations located at different countries around the world. From regular FM stations to old school AM ones. The app also allows users to choose stations based on genres and other details. Audials Radio has a pre-buffer feature to ensure smoother audio streaming, if your Internet connection is not too stable. It’s a rare kind of app and for avid radio listeners, Audials Radio is certainly useful. Other than radio stations, Audials also gives you an access to various podcasts related to various topics. It supports streaming feature to various airplay receivers, including Chromecast and AirPlay.

When you open the app, the interface allows you to browse all available stations and choose any of them. Finding a station is easy, because you can search them based on keywords. Once a station is selected, it will be pre-buffered for a while and the audio streaming should flow smoothly. Audials has the Zap feature which provides suggestions of similar radio stations. If you tap the Zap button, you will be switched to a radio station that plays similar type of music. This is a useful way to discover new stations that may match your preferences.

Another useful feature is the Record tab to save the song that’s being played for later playback. The Similar tab contains stations that are similar to the one you are listening to right now. To get latest Facebook and Twitter feed from current artists, you can tap the News tab. There is also built-in equalizer, sleep timer and alarm clock. These additional features are easy to set up and when the alarm goes off, you will be brought to the selected radio station. The equalizer feature is also easy to use and you can adjust how the station should sound.

Verdict

Audials Radio is free to download and you can listen to it at any time. Finding a favourite radio station or genre is easy with only a few taps. The fluid experience is somewhat ruined by the pre-buffering feature, but it’s essential for smooth audio playback, especially if you have unstable Internet connection.
