Gaming & Building Emotional Resilience with K’BRO
Sunday, March 11, 2018
Have you ever
noticed how some people are stressed during life transitions while others can
just roll with the punches? All of it comes down to emotional resilience. While
some of it may be biological, there are emotional resilience traits that you
can start cultivating and growing to start living your life with less struggle
and more ease. The impact of emotional resilience training are well documented. Schools and offices in which the practice
is taught have improved on so many levels - like increased motivation,
innovation and better relationships.
Emotional resilience in teens & its importance
Resilience has
been defined as “the ability of an individual to function competently in the
face of misfortunes or stress.” An adolescent who is emotionally resilient is
more likely to enter adulthood with a good chance of coping well, even if he or
she has experienced difficult circumstances and stressful situations in life.
The app K’BRO is designed with one goal, to help teenagers build up their
emotional resilience. The app is developed for both android and iOS devices and
is completely free. The CEO and founder of the K’BRO app is Patrina Mack, a
board member of the Mental Research Institute and as a mother who raised a
teenager, decided to put all of her knowledge into designing and developing
this app to address the growing crisis.
Building up emotional resilience through games
K’BRO aims to
build up and improve young people’s emotional resilience through game-play.
With its gaming approach the app will help teenagers work on different aspects
of emotional resilience, from learning to identify their feelings and emotional
state to learning to speak up and advocate for themselves, their feelings and
their views on different topics and situations in life. The K’BRO app also
comes with its anonymous online community of peers, called My Tribe, teens can
use for support, lifting each other spirits, seeking and giving advice on
different topics or situations and more. Being an emotionally resilient person
means sometimes being active and sometimes letting things go, knowing when to
stand back or when to step up, and knowing that no matter what, hardships and
life tribulations are things that pass with time. K’BRO is an amazing app that
teaches teens exactly that!
You can find and download the K’BRO app for free at the Google Play Store for Android, or the App Store for iOS devices.
