Strategy Game of the Month – Castlepoint

Wednesday, October 6, 2021

Castlepoint was already featured by the team of Intellectuapp. This old style RTS game is still played and wildly enjoyed by our team. We believe it can offer the same amazing entertainment to any of you strategy game fans. That’s why we pronounce it as our Strategy Game of the Month.

General Intro

Castlepoint is new chess and old style inspired RTS where you can enjoy 1v1 action strategy combats with enemy heroes. The goal of the game is to get 5 heroes to the enemy’s area, without allowing enemy heroes to get into your area.

Features In Detail

Once you open Castlepoint you can view the tutorial and start the game. Start by selecting the era (each requires different resources) and let the fun begin. Select heroes (all offering different damage and skills) and make quick decisions based on the enemy movements. Choose the row to which your hero will spawn, and try to get 5 heroes to the enemy’s area. In that way, you will win the game and you can try a more difficult game mode or another era.

Castlepoint is available to play offline, meaning you can play it in your commute time while traveling with an airplane or anywhere you don’t have internet access.

So if you are ready to make your life more entertaining with a simple, yet fun, classic and medieval-themed RTS for android, Castlepoint is a great choice. Especially since the f2p strategy game’s developers announced that soon Castlepoint will feature 2v2 and multiplayer game modes.

Review of Scientific Camera, our App of the day in January

Sunday, March 2, 2014

Scientific Camera was our App of the Day back in January, 2014. We liked the app very much as it is very unique, it lets you create quality photos and takes the most of your cameras, even if they are average or below average. You should also know that it can be used as a magnifying glass or a flash light.

The app got a major update this month. The app is now even better and polished. There are few great new additional features that we are going to present you today. There are 3 additional action items on the title bar.
First there is photo button that will show the last photo. Then there is binocular button that will enable you live tele-mode. Also, there is an overflow menu button to bring up you to context menu, which is really neat move.

Also there are changes with the virtual zoom. Now with the free version you can perform live tele-mode to up to 25 x virtual zoom. But, if you want to go more than 25x, you need to buy the pro version. The pro version will enable you amazing live virtual zoom to up to 80x. I have the pro version and I can say that it is astonishing and totally worth it.

If you never tried Scientific Camera you can download it free here and you can buy the Pro version here. Have fun!

Apps to watch – Flyne (Beta)

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

The power of the Android platform is in its developers . These developers do not cease to surprise us with creativity. What makes the Android platform to stand out from the other is the possibility that developers can have apps on Play Store that are still in beta phase. In most of the cases in order to download the beta version of the application the only requirement is to join the Google+ Community. At this same Google+ Community you can leave problems you encountered, or suggestions regarding the app.

Large companies prefer to produce apps that are closed and they basically don’t want to hear the opinions of the end users . However smaller developer communities and individuals who make beta applications are generally open for suggestions and assistance in the development of their application. Therefore the application at the end receives and gains strong community and becomes very useful to users and not just companies.

There are certainly a bunch of applications that are currently in beta stage, but Flyne is definitely an application that I think will get the attention of users and evolve into a serious project.
Flyne is offline reader for Twitter. It will provide you with full offline articles from your favorite twitter feeds. It is created by Joaqim Verges, the creator of the popular and maybe the best Twitter app – Falcon Pro. Flyne will allow reading the news without Internet access. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you don’t need Internet access at all. To collect the news you will certainly need Internet connection.

App Description

Flyne is quick and simple application that allows you to keep up to date with your favorite news sources. Flyne uses Twitter lists to allow you access to your favorite news and blogs, and the ones that your friends recommend. Flyne collects and downloads the full articles for later offline viewing and displays them in a form suited for mobile devices. Flyne looks like a newspaper, page by page you can move through the articles and view photos in the gallery.

If you want to try it, you must go the developer’s site and leave your email.

LG G2’s nightmare alarm ringtone

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

LG G2 was included in our best smartphones for 2013 list. This smartphone is truly awesome, but obviously one of its ringtones isn’t. This nightmare ringtone will surely want to throw your LG out of the balcony or just smash it at the wall. The top YouTube comment describes the ringtone the best and thinks that there is intention in why LG selected this ringtone: “They just want you to throw your phone at the wall in a rage so they can sell you a new one.”

FIFA 14 is available for free on Google Play

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

EA Sport released the mobile version of its famous football (soccer) game FIFA14. It is free and available on Google Play from yesterday and for only one day it has over 5k reviews and average rating of 4.6.
The original game for Playstation, Xbox and desktop computer will be available on 27 September in Europe.

The free mobile version doesn’t mean that EA forgot to earn on one of the most famous sport franchises. In the application there are many micro-transactions which will unlock different play modes like Manager, badges and players, but also there are many free modes like Ultimate Team for building your dream team and playing with your friends.

Of course, the mobile version is nothing when compared with the original version for the consoles and the desktop computers, but it has engine that is good enough and enough controls to play a good game. The Touch Flow Controls are designed so you can shoot with sliding of your fingers and to drag the players on the pitch, but they are little hard to understand, so if you got used to the controls from the previous version, you can use them as well. Prepare 1.3GB from your SD Card if you want to play the game.

App of the Day - Follow livescores on your Android devices with Sofascore

Monday, September 23, 2013

I know that there are many available apps for following sport livescore on Google Play, but Sofascore has recently become my favorite. It has wide variety of sports, it is frequently updated and it has tons of cool features, that most of the other score apps don't have.

The main menu

On the top left corner you can choose various sports. From tennis and ice-hockey, to voleyball and basketball, this app is very detailed, broad and informative. After, you choose your sport, then you can choose to go Live, to see All Games played that day and to see your Favorites.

If you choose certain game, depending from the sport, the app will give you great amount of information. Maybe, the biggest amount of information from all sport score apps. For example, in one football (soccer) game you can get info about the scorers, lineups, league tables, head 2 head, last and next games of the two teams and even highlights of the goals.

Every game can become your favorite. So, if you are interested in the scores of your favorites just add the desired games and follow the score easily.

Above the livescores there is a calendar. That will help you to see the fixtures of the desired sport. You can also add your favorite teams and see the fixtures and results just for your teams.

The app is frequently updated, fast and with no lags. I used it frequently and I recommended to any sport fan to download it and try it. It is free and available on Google Play with average rating of 4.7.

App of the Day – Organize, edit and view your documents with Kingsoft Office

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Today we are going to present you an office app that will help you open and edit 23 kinds of files on your Android device. We are talking about one of the most downloaded and best rated business apps on Google Play – Kingsoft Office.

First of all, this app has one of the simplest and most intuitive UI I’ve ever saw. The main upper row of icons reminds me much of Microsoft Word and Excel. You can easily tap and go through them. Everything is clearly arranged and everything is created in a simple way.

The app will enable you to view and edit PDF files and any document of Microsoft Office, which are the most widely used business document formats. For example if you have something to write and edit on your Android device, Kingsoft will enable you to do just that. You can change font size, choose from various fonts and perform other similar editing tasks.

What is also great is that Kingsoft supports all of the famous cloud storages like Google Drive, Dropbox and Box. So, after you edit or receive a document you can store it on your account on some of these storages. Also, there is email support, so you can easily send any document via email. But, it I have to say that there is integrated support only for Gmail.

The app is blazing fast, everything runs smoothly and with no lags. All these reasons make Kingsoft my favorite office app that I will keep on my smartphone for a long time.

Today we are going to present you one of the best apps to improve your driving experience and increase safety while driving. Ulysse Speedometer is beautiful car application that will offer you numerous features and offers amazing UI, great amount of information and it is extremely fast.

App of the Day – Send notes, lists, files or links to your Android device with PushBullet

Thursday, September 12, 2013

It is funny and unfair how this very useful and outstanding app has only 1.6k reviews and around 50k downloads. PushBullet is a productivity app which will help you to send notes, lists, files, addresses or links to your smartphone or tablet, from your computer. The sending is very fast and the app is extremely light (only 838KB), simple and fast.

How to start using it

After you install it there are instruction if you tap on to “What do I do?”. You’ll need to go to www.pushbullet.com and sign up with the same Google account. That’s it. Then you can start sending files like photos, videos, music, PDF files etc. to your devices (you can add multiple devices), or you can use it to send links, which you can view later on your phone or tablet. You can also create grocery lists, notes or send addresses to your smartphone.

One of the other cool features that this app has is the ability to add more devices from different PushBullet accounts, with which you can share the same things. App of the Day – Contactive Caller ID and Dialer

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

How would you like to have the phone number, email address, Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Whatsapp, Skype, Tango and Google profiles of your friends in one app? Contactive will enable you just that and that is why it is one of the best replacements of the boring stock phone dialer and address book, with so much more features and so much better design.

Praised by TechCrunch and XDA Developers, Contactive is a free app that works in very simple way. This app collects data from all of your linked social media accounts, publically available sources and their big global directory. So, you will not only get info when someone from your contacts is calling you, but also you will get info about the unknown numbers.

After you install the app, you need to sign up with all of your social media accounts, or with the ones you prefer. Currently I only linked my Twitter and Facebook account. Then the app will automatically add social media contacts to all of your contacts that use social media.

After that everything is easy. If you select certain contact, you can get detailed info about the contact like: contact information, last call and last message and links to his social media accounts. If you want to call him, then the app will offer you Phone or Skype, or if you want to message him it will offer you SMS, Skype, Viber, Tango or WhatsApp. Thus, you will be more effective if you constantly contact certain people.

The app will also inform you for the location and other info about the unknown numbers calling you. It is certainly one of the best caller IDs that are available free on Google Play.

The UI, Design and Menu of Contactive

I especially liked the nicely designed keypad. On top of the keypad you can add your favorite contacts, or contacts you call the most, so you can make quick calls directly from the keypad. The Quick Call will enable you to call to your recent and favorite contacts. Lists is where the app will create lists according to some data from your social media accounts. For example, in my case it grouped all of my friends from my College. Also, you can create your custom lists, like family, close friends etc. Updates is where you will get important updates from the Social Media.

At the bottom of the app is the search bar and the add contact icon. Also, there is the Settings icon, from where you can sync your accounts and edit your preferences.

Overall, the app is very fast, with intuitive UI and I will definitely keep this on my phone for a long time.

Edit: Since the release of this article Contactive updated their app in their big v1.5.0 release. The design is new and improved, most of the minor bugs are fixed and you can send Facebook, Skype or Whatsapp messages right from Contactive.

App of the day – Movie Roll

Monday, September 9, 2013

Yes, there are similar apps already available on Google Play, but Movie Roll differs from them and has become my favorite these days, because of the interface, design, information it gives to you and the features it has.

After you open the app the main menu is very simple, but yet it has nicely arranged and unique categories. First it will show you what is popular right now.

The second feature is “What movie should I watch?”, which is the feature I liked the most. The app will ask you 3-4 questions and it will recommend you the best movie, according to your answers. This is pretty good to use if you want to watch a movie, but you can’t find the one that suits you the most.

Then there are the “Subgenre Charts”, which will offer you unique lists created by the developers. There are uncharacteristic genres like movies with “Greatest Twist Ending”, or “Time Travel” movies.

Then is the Upcoming category, in which you can see which movies will come out in the next period. The Top 10 Box Office and Top 10 DVD Releases will obviously show you what is popular and most watched at the moment. The new DVD releases category will show you which new movies finally got a DVD release.

“Random Movie” is another interesting feature, which will enable you to find and select movies very fast. Also at the end of the main menu there are random trailers of new or upcoming movies.

It is pretty amazing how many information the app will give you about certain movie. You can watch trailer directly from the app, there is info about the year, genre, IMDb, Flixter and Rotten Tomatoes ratings, theater release, DVD release, Runtime, Country, Budget, Revenue, Critics consensus and Film Studios that were involved in creating of the movie. Also, you can see the cast, photos, reviews or find similar movies.

I think that I’m going to keep Movie Roll, because of the tons of features it offers me and because of the detailed info about certain movie. I think that people who frequently watch movies should also install it and try it.

App of the Day – Beautylish: Makeup Beauty Tips

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Beautylish was praised by many Android blogs and also it is in the “Editors Choice” category, which is big achievement. So, lets see what are the features of this app.

The app is created in a manner that will enable you to find and discover new makeup looks and hairstyles, learn how to do certain stuff with their easy to understand tutorials, find products and reviews from users and shop on their online shop.

The sign up process is very easy, you can actually sign up with your Google or Facebook account. After you create your profile you can start using Beautylish. The Shop category is divided into popular, makeup, nails, hair.. etc. Every product has description, price and reviews from users of the app.

The Editorial category is where you find a lots of news, stories, products and tips and tricks. Photos is where you’ll find different photos of amazing looks, hair, nails or lips. Every photo that you like, you can share on the social networks. The category Reviews is divided in different review subcategories like makeup, fragrances, skincare and nails.

The category Videos is where you find the tutorials and the different looks and hair. This is where you will actually learn new things and get inspiration from. The final category is Talk. This is what makes the app even more interesting, as you can speak and communicate with other users of the app, learn new things through their experiences, have fun and even start your own threads.

At the end of the day, I think that Beautylish is one of the most complete, fun and most useful Android apps for women. They can easily find what they looking for, communicate with each other, learn new things and buy tried and verified products.

The European application market opened 794,000 new jobs and it is €10 billion worth

Saturday, September 7, 2013

The whole territory of Europe now is a huge market of mobile applications, even though this market didn’t even existed 5 years ago. According to the latest report of VisionMobile and Plum Consulting, European mobile economy opened 794,000 new jobs of which 529,000 are directly related to creating applications. More than 60% of the new jobs are open for the developers of applications.

According to Neelie Kroes, Euro Commissioner for Europe’s digital agenda, it is not strange that this industry has such big development in the last 5 years. This development depends on the freedom of innovation from anywhere, and from the various business models that can disrupt the traditional markets and create new ones. Considerable success comes from the fact that the applications are trans-national, they are "ideas that have already been shared and sold across national borders."
However, the mobile applications market is yet to be developed, and for its progress primarily the public data needs to be released. Europe already started one project related to this, called Open Data Portal, which needs to be finished in the next few years and which will allow to the developers to use the open data for their apps.

Additionally, says Mrs. Kroes, for the development of the app market it is hugely important the borders in the European telecommunications to be broke down. The U.S. has an advantage because it is a federal country, while in Europe there are bunch of countries who follow their own rules, and there are bunch of telecom companies who charge expensive roaming calls and internet roaming, although EU is an open market. Therefore EU created great pressure the roaming prices to be significantly cut among its members, and from 1july the mobile data internet roaming is 15 times cheaper (€ 0.45 MB).
