Android App of the Month – Distress Alarm

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

When we first read about Distress Alarm last week, we were amazed by the idea! A feature rich and versatile security app that will help anyone in emergency. But, we were afraid that the app will lack intuitiveness and most importantly, functionality. Our doubts were unneeded, we were impressed and we can easily say that this is the most useful App of the Month. Let’s see why.

Emergencies happen, even more frequently now because of the increased cases of criminal activity. In cases of emergencies it is best to have an app that will help you get emergency services right away. Distress Alarm can help you with that as this app serves as a panic alarm app that will notify the emergency services in case of a risky situation or emergency.

How It Works?

The app works in a simple manner. You set up an alarm when you are in a risky situation in which you can’t call anyone. The alarm will go off and if you don’t respond in 2 minutes, the app will automatically call all emergency services. However, you can set the app to call your friends or a family member if you want as well.

Another great safety feature (Panic Button)

This feature was tested several times by us and it never bailed us. The panic button in Distress Alarm works in a simple way and it is extremely useful. When you need to pass through some suspicious or scary neighborhood, place or a parking lot, simply tap and hold the panic button. If there is a danger release it and your contacts will be notified that you are in a dangerous situation. If there is nothing going on simply slide away the button.

Emergencies

The app has a whole different tab to set up the contacts for emergencies. So, you can leave numbers, messages and see all emergency services in your area.

The app is free and can be extremely useful for families and people who live in dangerous neighborhoods.
